JAKE TAKES A LOOK

Jake Nicholls was back on the GP scene at Valkenswaard, but only to watch, chill out with some mates and help out Maler with the commentary: "I can start riding again in a fortnight and hope to return to racing at the French GP in June. I have been able to keep up my physical training but if my riding is not back to where I want to be I will put it back by a week or two; I don't want to return until I am sure I can be competitive."

NINE POINTS COVER THE TOP FOUR

Just nine points separate the top four in the AMA SX series with two races to go. STROKER POWER

Almost unnoticed amid the non-stop action in Bulgaria last week was a sterling performance in the Euro 125 stroker class by UK champion James Dunn. The Swindon teenager took his JCS Apex Doodson KTM to 8th in the first moto, and then charged up the leaderboard from 8th to 3rd in race two for 5th overall.

Trey Canard breaks a femur whilst practising !

The tightest showdown in the history of AMA SX is down to four riders as Trey Canard suffered a broken femur whilst practising at Competive Edge MX Park, Hesperia, California yesterday.

There are suggestions that the American Honda team leader will only be out of action for six weeks - a femur normally takes much longer to heal - but that is fairly irrelevant as the 2010 US Lites champion is certain to miss the remainder of the SX season plus the opening rounds of the outdoors.

BT PUTS HIS COMEBACK ON HOLD

Ben Townley is still suffering th effects of his most recent training crash at the start of the year and has put his racing comeback on hold for an indefinite period: "It's difficult to say when I will be back racing; it can be in two weeks, four weeks or more. My goal was to be there to win the title, now of course it's over and I will be back when I will feel comfortable. In the past I came back too early after injuries, and I will not make the same mistake again; I know that my speed will not be a problem, but I need some foundation before coming back. For sure I want to win some races before the end of the season !"
