GLENN COLDENHOFF WINS QUALI
... as Herlings gets disqualified !
| 31.03.2013 |
Glenn Coldenhoff made sure Holland stayed top in MX2 qualification at Valkenswaard as he kept his Standing Construct KTM ahead of the Wilvo JM Nestaan duo of Romain Febvre and Jake Nicholls ... but whwere was hot favourite Jeffrey Herlings ? "I didn't get a good jump and I had to shut off at turn one as the riders inside me came across, but then the riders outside cut across me too and I must have been about 20th. The track was so flat, not like Lierop, so it was difficult to pass but I was up to 7th before I got sideways, went over a berm and got stuck in the fence." Despite finishing 10th Herlings will have last pick on the gate tomorrow as he was disqualified for receiving unwanted "outside assistance".

| KARRO BACK ON TRACK | 28.03.2013 |
Matiss Karro is poised to make an early return to racing @ Valkenswaard this weekend; after intensive treatment on his fractured wrist the 21 year old Latvian has been given the all-clear to take on the world again in the demanding Dutch sand. Jamie Law, who had been on standby to take over the vacant ride @ STR KTM, as he had done successfully in Qatar and Thailand, will now race his own Dyer & Butler KTM in MX3.

| FOUR OUT OF FOUR FOR CONRAD MEWSE | 23.03.2013 |
The intact 100% record of Jeffrey Herlings after the first two two rounds of the Dutch championship is hardly even news as the world champion runs away with everything in the MX2 class this year, but the Dutch teenager is not the only rider unbeaten in four motos so far in the Dutch sand. Evgeny Bobryshev has put the disappointment of the GP points he cast away late on in Thailand to dominate MX1 at Halle and Oldebroek, and the king of the 85s is Conrad Mewse. The West Country lad followed up his Halle double with another maximum score in round two today, getting back up off the ground to run down Spanish whizzkid Jorge Prado. And there were more podiuim "Brits" with Jake Nicholls second in MX2 and Route77energy Honda's Tanel Leok runner-up in MX1. Results of the adult classes @ "More"

| CANADA HEIGHTS MAXXIS CANCELLED | 19.03.2013 |
ACU Events have to announce that round two of the series 24 March 2013 scheduled for this weekend at Canada Heights is CANCELLED. Members of the organising Sidcup Club, in conjunction with the Series Promoter, ACU Events, made the decision early this morning (Tuesday) after a further track inspection late on Monday, but the crunch of the decision was the amount of rainfall / snow due to fall later in the week in the Kent area.

| TOMMY SEARLE WINS WET WEATHER MAXXIS OPENER | 17.03.2013 |
Tommy Searle scorched to an impressive double as he made a guest appearance at the Fat Cat Maxxis opener as part of his preparation for the start of the European GP campaign at Valkenswaard over Easter. Elliott Banks-Browne topped MX2 but had to surrender the second moto to Mel Pocock, the 2012 European champion having dnf'd race one. Wet weather restricted the programme to two motos per class, but those cursing the British weather should note that they escaped the worst storms of the weekend; the French national opener in Provence was a wash-out ! | MAX ATTACK | 10.03.2013 |
KTM repeated their Saturday show in Thailand with a Cairoli-De Dycker 1-2 in MX1 and Herlings-Febvre topping MX2, but Max Anstie fired a warning shot for the upcoming GPs as he stormed the leaderboard for third in MX2. A damaged brake and throttle cable cost Jake Nicholls, while Shaun Simpson's TM got smacked in turn one, but Tommy Searle continues to turn up the pace in his rookie MX1 season for a solid 5th. The Superfinal was Cairoli all the way as Herlings kept things interesting all the way to just miss an overall podium, three quarters of a minute ahead of the next 250F. Results @ "More"

| KTM RULES | 09.03.2013 |
KTM obliterated the opposition in qualification for the Thailand GP after a morning storm had curtailed practice, Toni Cairoli and Ken De Dycker storming to a 1-2 in MX1 and orange bikes taking the first five places in MX2. Jake Nicholls was best Brit, third in MX2 behind Jeffrey Herlings and teammate Romain Febvre, while Mel Pocock was best non-KTM as he brought his Yam home 6th. Tommy Searle crossed the line 9th in MX1, but Route77energy MVR-D Honda's Tanel Leok came home 7th, pipped on the last lap by Clement Desalle on the red plate Suzuki. None of the locals in either class made the 108% cut and the first prominent victim was Aleksander Tonkov; with only one bike overseas there was no time for repairs after he crashed on his third lap before setting a time. WHO WON IN QATAR ?
Toni Cairoli or Clement Desalle ?
| 03.03.2013 |
Confusion reigned in Qatar as Clement Desalle scored the most MX1 world championship points and was awarded the series leader's red plate ... but the Belgian didn't get the winner's trophy. That went to Toni Cairoli for his victory in the combined MX1/MX2 Superfinal ! Desalle's comment: "It's pretty stupid !" Cairoli went 3-1 on the day, Desalle 1-2.

| TONI STILL ON TOP | 01.03.2013 |
Toni Cairoli is still the kingpin of MX1 world motocross; the Sicilian swept to the front of the qualifier from the word go at the opening GP in Qatar this evening to win convincingly. There was less joy for Jeffrey Herlings in MX2 as he ran off the track at the exit from turn one and collided with an opponent as he tried to rejoin the race quickly. Valentin Teillet ran away with the race, whilst Herlings battled back to 8th. Best Brits were Max Anstie (4th), Jake Nicholls (7th) and Tommy Searle (7th in MX1). Full results @ "More"
